Fortunately we have a couple of days to relax which is really nice considering it's been a couple of weeks since we had a nice day like this. Christmas day was extra special this year since it was Zedekiah's first but he didn't get the memo on that and ended up sleeping through pretty much the whole day. Apparently Christmas Eve wore him out. The boys were very excited about all of their gifts. Michael's favorite of the moment appears to be the castle lego set that we won't let him get out yet and Joseph's is his new RC truck. My favorite would have to be my new macbook but I have to say that Jeremy did a good job picking out a new pair of pyjamas for me....pink flannel with sock monkeys...they're super cute! Our family gift will be a big hit too, we just got it out and played with Guitar Hero - World Tour (the full band one) and it is pretty awesome. Zedekiah thinks all of his gifts suck. I keep trying to find something he'll play with but we're just not having much luck with that...nothing compares to the awesome yumminess of his hands.

I'm hoping that the weather turns a little less depressing soon but apparently that isn't necessarily in the immediate future. It is rainy and windy and foggy and dreary and just all around yucky around here. I'm coveting the snow some of you have.

I forgot my camera when we went to my grandma D's this year so my sister sent me these great photos featuring the "original" santa (Uncle Larry) who has been on something like a decade long hiatus. Mistress Clause didn't make an appearance this year.... so sad.

<img title="sneaky good" style="border-style: none;
Michael might be unraveling the mystery that is Santa Clause....this could be his last magical year of believing.

<img title="zed santa" style="border-style: none; He's been taking longer naps and when he's tired he will occasionally just fall asleep doing whatever he's doing. Right now he was playing in his "jungle gym" and he fell asleep. This is a welcome change from "I must nurse constantly for 2 hours before bedtime." Oh and yesterday we made a lame developmental milestone that Zedekiah was excited about. He grasped an object with both hands. You should have seen the joy on his face! That's what he worked on while I was sorting presents yesterday. I think I have another 2 days of working on the presents and then we have to be done because it's christmas. My mom was kind enough to watch the boys yesterday then when Jeremy got home she came over to the church and held Zedekiah while I sorted and then wrapped while he slept and I fed him. That was definitely a blessing!

Well today we're going to try and get our tree decorated and our cat moved out. We've had it up to our ears with scarlet and her peeing on everything so Jeremy is out buying a fish net and a big pet carrier right now. We will not miss her. The tree is the auten version of short which is about 9.5 feet tall. Jeremy says the tree guy sold it to him as an 8 foot tree.

OK, I'm going to see if I can't catch teh cat before Jeremy gets back.

The craziness that is Christmas

Until last year we have always been really good about getting our tree up nice and early and really have a chance to enjoy our nice big tree. Last year we dropped the ball and got the tree up late. This year, we still don't have our tree up and we're not even going to get a big one. We're thinking more like an 8 foot tree this year. It's kind of sad but we don't want to spend hours and hours decorating a tree that's only going to be up for like 2 weeks....most of the time being after christmas. Next year we'll be on top of our game again ad maybe even get an extra huge over 15 foot tree to make up for this year :)

Zedekiah is growing and growing and growing. He's doing new things every day...and quickly becoming a not so tiny baby! It was really sad to see his newborn stage disappear so fast but it's been a lot of fun seeing him start to really interact with the world so well. He rolled over for the first time on the 11th but hasn't done it again since. His new favorite trick is taking out his paci which is he is VERY good at....sometimes he's even able to get it back in...but not often.

Michael and Joseph are helping me sort presents at church this week. Yesterday they were such great helpers that I think I finished earlier than normal because of them! We got all the presents sorted by family and about 1/3 of them checked in. Which is really really great considering that there are 57 families this year and that I have 3 kids to take care of while getting all this done!

OK, I totally just pumped enough for church tonight in one sitting. ROCK ON! I'm taking advantage of the peaceful house and getting my lists sorted before I head back to bed.

He's a citizen!!

Yesterday we finally made time to take Zedekiah to the County Clerk's office and make him a citizen. It was such an interesting experience. Apparently no one in our county ever ever has a home birth ever ever ever. Then, if they do have a homebirth they call first to tell the lady that has file telling her what to do that they're coming. We totally messed with her world. After she refilled out all the paperwork and we filled out some more paperwork stating that I'd like the baby to have Jeremy's name (which was really a tough decision... I labored over it for quite a while) she spent a while using a typewriter (SERIOUSLY!! I didn't even know typewriters were still around) to finalize the birth certificate. Then for the shocking part. Apparently it is her responsibility to check to make sure that we'd actually had a boy. Yeah, we totally got to show off his precious man parts today. Sweet stuff.

So if you're the type that pays attention to this sort of thing, it's totally the middle of the night. My infant is sleeping like the good boy that he is, and yet I'm down here on my computer. What the heck is that about? Today I realized that I hadn't pumped all week and we have church in like 2 days. I totally said I'd be back for good starting this week and to do that I'm going to need to provide a bottle so that I can make it one service ( or more! ) without nursing. This is the feeding he eats the least at because he just can't stay awake to eat much so it's the perfect time to pump....and now it has the added bonus of allowing me to post a post with words in it since I'm hands free for a change.

Soooo about those wordless pictures earlier.... Michael has staked out my rocker/glider as the coolest place to read. he is up there reading all the time in my cozy little nursing corner. I have to kick him out if I want to feed Z up there. What's really exciting is that he's reading to Joseph too so they both crown into that chair and will read for like an HOUR. Woo hoo!

OK my 20 minutes is up and I have a rocking 3.75 oz of milk for Sunday! I'm only going to have to pump once more this week...and if it's like this time I can put some in the freezer!

just pics... no words

<img title="IMG_5183" style="border-style: none; Wow. I sure got an education today that included many important lessons. The most important lesson being "Never believey our husband when he says he deleted all the naked pictures of you off the kids camera." Now, I know that sounds scary and perverted but it's really not that bad. After Zedekiah was born the kids took lots and lots of pictures while I was in various states of undress. They're actually some of their best pictures....but no one will ever see any of them. They sure took some great shots of the placenta though and I will share one of those (I'm now choosing a different one because I just realized the blur in the background of my first choice is actually me naked) !

The quality of the pictures is definitely lacking but that's mostly the camera. Even the pictures that Jeremy took aren't that great. Now, if you drop this camera, it bounces in a good way and has lived through many drops.

My next important lesson will be without an accompanying photograph. I learned a 2 fold lesson. Those are always the best right? First of all, if one is going to be mooning a camera, always make sure one is wearing clean, fresh, skidmark free undies. Second of all, never trust that your 4 year old and his friends haven't considered taking pictures of one another's bottoms. Seriously.

Their camera allows you to add graphics before you take a picture. We have lots of would be good pictures with a viking cap in the middle of them. Their best pictures are of dinosaurs and playmobil people.

<img title="DC00080" style="border-style: none;

In other news, both of my children got punched at McDonald's last night. There was a totally out of control party going on and this little 5 year old boy decked Michael in the eye and hit Joseph in the head. I didn't handle the situation the best but I console myself with the fact that when the idiot of a mom confronted me about the fact that I'd grabbed her son's arm that she proved to me an incompetent parent. She had the gall to tell JOSEPH that he should have hit her son back. Then attacked me for telling Joseph that he needed to ignore her because she was just a bad mommy. Her son was not present during the exchange or I would never have said that. As we were leaving the parking lot I noticed that their entire crew was packing up to leave. I totally ratted them out to the McDonald manager because seriously you can't have a kid assaulting other kids running free in McDonald's and obviously his mother had no control over him or she would have been attacking her son instead of me. Oooh the joys of parenting.

Guns and cuteness oh my!

Oh my goodness, the boys just had Zedekiah laughing hysterically. I've never seen him do that and it was hillarious. Ohhh if only I had a video camera that I would never be able to find when something funny happens!

Today was our church's last day at the "old campus." I don't think I'll miss our old campus much but I have some great memories of our old church. I took some pictures to memorialize the occasion. (Don't worry, the gun tie in is coming).

Zedekiah and I's last day in Prims...

Joseph's last day in 5k.....

Michael's last day in the old kid zone.... (ok Joseph is in this one too but when we pick Joseph up he always goes and plays game cube with Michael)

Zedekiah's last day at the old church...in his really funny "snow suit." The ears are too precious. He didn't go to the nursery today because there wasn't an adult for the baby side and he's a little too little for the toddler side if I don't have to be somewhere else. I even pumped for the occasion. Now, on the bright side I have 11 oz of milk in the freezer now! YAY!!

And now for the fun part.... Michael went shooting with my dad on Thanksgiving and we have a video of his very first (and only!) shot. It is too funny.

In other news Zedekiah has his first runny nose. He doesn't like laying on his back right now and happily slept for3 hours straight in his car seat this afternoon. After falling asleep in his boppy while I was loading a DVD bright and early this morning (he wouldn't go back to sleep after he ate at 5 ewww) I realized that he wans't sleeping because it was hard to breathe on his back. Poor guy.
